Green Day Rips Into Trump Chant at American Music Awards

Who was the big winner at this year’s American Music Awards? It might just be Green Day. They did a live performance of their song, “Bang Bang,” and Billie Joe Armstrong interrupted the song to chant, “No Trump. No KKK. No Fascist USA.” The aired footage on ABC didn’t show whether or not the crowd chanted along, but the people in the crowd that were seen before and after the chant were all smiles and jamming along.

It didn’t look like too many people disagreed with it. And it’s not even a Green Day original. It’s originally from a song from the group M.D.C. from back in the 80s. Back then the lyric was, “No War. No KKK. No Fascist USA,” but they have been singing it with “No Trump” lately, and apparently Armstrong and Green Day picked it up and made it famous last night.
